About Keith Haring:
Known for his animated imagery, Keith Haring was an American artist whose pop art emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s. Between 1980 and 1985, Haring produced hundreds of public drawings in rapid rhythmic lines, sometimes creating as many as forty “subway drawings” in one day. Between 1980 and 1989, Haring achieved international recognition and participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. In 1989, Haring established a foundation to ensure that his philanthropic legacy would continue indefinitely. Haring passed away of AIDS related complications on February 16, 1990.
