The 29th Annual Texas Book Festival Returns to Austin with Sessions by Malcolm Gladwell & Matthew McConaughey

Attention all book lovers! One of the nation’s premier annual literary events, the Texas Book Festival is coming to downtown Austin. From November 16th through the 17th, the 29th annual Texas Book Festival Weekend will take place in and around the Texas State Capitol with tents along 11th Street and Congress Ave. Featuring almost 300 authors of the year’s best books across all ages and genres, the Festival Weekend is FREE and open to all.

There are two sold out ticketed sessions at the 2024 Festival: Malcolm Gladwell and Matthew McConaughey. If attendees cancel their reservations more tickets may become available.
Please check the 2024 Schedule Updates page for author cancellations, session updates, and other Festival Weekend information. Ticket holders receive session access as well as a pre-signed copy of the featured author’s book at their ticketed session.

The 2024 Texas Book Festival will host programming in tents set up along 11th Street and on Congress Avenue, directly south of the Capitol. Sessions will also be held in several nearby venues.

• Saturday, November 16: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Sunday, November 17: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Texas Book Festival’s official bookseller is BookPeople and will be on-site selling books for all featured festival authors. BookPeople will be in the Main Book Sales Tent and Children’s Book Sales/Signing Tent, both on 11th Street and Congress Avenue.

Food trucks at the festival include Amy’s Ice Creams, Carla’s Baskets, Dropping Donuts, Heros Gyros, Roppolo’s Pizzeria, Saigon Le Vendeur, Tacobaby, and Wholly Cow burgers.
